On April 16, 2024, Wenjie Zhao, founding partner of Winson Law Firm, and Ding Lei, partner, visited the Shenzhen International Arbitration Institute.

Wenjie Zhao and his entourage visited the historical exhibition area of the Shenzhen International Arbitration Institute, the opening room of the arbitration tribunal, the arbitrator's studio, and other functional areas. Yanbing Peng, legal adviser of Shenzhen International Arbitration Institute, introduced in detail the development history and achievements of Shenzhen International Arbitration Institute, especially the international achievements in six aspects such as governance structure and mechanism docking.

Zhao said that Winson Law Firm is the most influential Chinese-funded law firm in the Middle East, and looks forward to comprehensively promoting strategic cooperation between the two sides, focusing on the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

It is reported that the Shenzhen International Arbitration Institute was founded in 1983. It is the first arbitration institution in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. It is a product of China's reform and opening up, the construction of special economic zones, and the product of cooperation between the mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao. In 1984, it pioneered the hiring of overseas arbitrators. In 1989, it set a precedent for the recognition and enforcement of Chinese arbitration awards abroad by the New York Convention. In 2012, it created a statutory institutional management model and a corporate governance mechanism with the International Council as the core. In 2016, it created a Chinese arbitration institution. The rules for accepting investment arbitration set a precedent for the merger of Chinese arbitration institutions (the merger of Shenzhen Arbitration Commission) in 2018. In 2021, under the requirements of the central documents, the name   "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Arbitration Center" will be added at the same time, deepen cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao, and build a global-oriented international arbitration center.   The parties have covered 138 countries and regions, and the arbitrators have covered 114 countries and regions. In 2022, Shenzhen International Arbitration Institute achieved breakthroughs in several key business indicators: the total dispute amount of accepted cases was 127.2 billion yuan, ranking first in Asia and the top three in the world; the total amount of disputes in accepting foreign-related cases was 42 billion yuan, ranking first in the country; the highest dispute amount in cases was RMB 23.991 billion. Yuan ranked first in the country; rated as the "focused Asia-Pacific regional international arbitration institution" and "China's first choice" by the Global Arbitration Review in 2022.
