Winson Law Offices Visits Belt and Road Environmental Technology Center

On April 15, 2024, Winson Law Firm's founding partners Wenjie Zhao and Ethen Gai, along with partner Ding Lei, visited the Environmental Protection Department's Belt and Road Environmental Technology Exchange and Transfer Center (Shenzhen). The center's director   Mingtu Hao, deputy director Shutang Wang, and chief business officer Lisha Yi met with the delegation from Vinson Law Firm and held a discussion.

During the meeting, Director Mingtu Hao first extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Winson Law Firm on behalf of the center and introduced the center's main functions and organizational structure. Director Hao expressed the center's desire to strengthen cooperation with Winson Law Firm in areas such as assisting enterprises with local establishment, business inspections, permanent overseas exhibition halls, and participation in exhibitions. The aim is to jointly conduct study tours and research activities, establish a regular communication mechanism, and promote the internationalization of more green technologies and projects.

Both parties engaged in an in-depth discussion on how to leverage their respective strengths to better serve Chinese enterprises going global and to fulfill their duties more effectively. They also had thorough discussions on various aspects of cooperation and reached a consensus.

The Belt and Road Environmental Technology Exchange and Transfer Center (Shenzhen) is a collaborative initiative established by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government. It aims to become a "Silicon Valley" for green and low-carbon technology innovation and a "high ground" for international cooperation in ecological and environmental protection. The center is designed to serve as a high-end innovative platform for international cooperation in environmental protection between China and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. Its mission is to drive the aggregation of advantageous resources in the domestic and international environmental industries, explore innovative models for international exchange and transfer of environmental technologies, and actively engage in exemplary international exchanges and cooperation in the environmental industry. This contributes effective support to building a green Belt and Road, leading the development of green concepts, international standards, and industrial growth.

The Belt and Road Center serves as a premier entity for China's international cooperation with countries along the Belt and Road in the environmental industry. Operated through a synergistic approach led by the government, driven by enterprises, and supported by academic research, the center focuses on facilitating the exchange and transfer of advanced environmental technologies and supporting the construction of a green Belt and Road. It promotes regional information sharing, technological exchange, and industrial collaboration, striving to become an international-level national platform for environmental technology exchange and transfer that influences countries along the Belt and Road.
