On June 12, 2026, the Ministry of Justice of Morocco held an international seminar titled "National and International Mediation: Cross-Perspectives on Institutional and Sectoral Dynamics" in Casablanca. The International Organization for Mediation is the world's first intergovernmental international legal organization dedicated exclusively to resolving international disputes through mediation. The Casablanca international seminar is an important component of a series of exchange activities between the Moroccan Ministry of Justice and the International Organization for Mediation held in Morocco. Prior to this, on June 11, 2026, the Moroccan Ministry of Justice and the International Organization for Mediation signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Rabat, aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two sides in the areas of dispute resolution and the development of mediation mechanisms. According to public reports, the memorandum was signed by Moroccan Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi and a representative of the International Organization for Mediation, with the scope of cooperation covering the development of international mediation, the promotion of mediation mechanisms in commercial and investment fields, professional training, experience exchange, and the sharing of best practices.
The Moroccan Ministry of Justice noted in relevant reports that mediation, as a flexible, fast, and lower-cost dispute resolution method, helps enhance legal certainty and build trust in the commercial and investment environment. Morocco has in recent years continued to advance judicial modernization and the development of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, and these activities also reflect Morocco's active efforts to optimize the business environment, enhance investment attractiveness, and strengthen its position in regional and international dispute resolution.
In addition, during the visit to Morocco, the relevant exchanges were further extended to the corporate and commercial institution level. On June 13, 2026, Li Jing attended an exchange event held at the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and engaged in discussions with representatives of relevant institutions and professionals on how mediation mechanisms can better serve enterprises, investment projects, and cross-border commercial cooperation.
