Zhao Wenjie Appointed General Counsel of Shanghai Chamber in the UAE

Celebration of the establishment of the second council of the Shanghai General Chamber of Commerce and Hometown Association of the United Arab Emirates was held at the Fairmont Hotel on Palm Island, Dubai. Lawyer Zhao Wenjie, the founder of Winson Law Firm, was hired as the general counsel.

At the celebration, His Excellency Zhang Yiming, Chinese Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, awarded Cheng Fuqiang the certificate of the President of the Second Council of the Shanghai General Chamber of Commerce and Hometown Association of the United Arab Emirates, and President Cheng Fuqiang issued the certificate of General Legal Adviser to lawyer Zhao Wenjie. Lawyer Zhao Wenjie will lead a team of more than 30 Chinese and Arab lawyers from Winson Law Firm to provide legal services and escort Chinese-funded enterprises, including Shanghai enterprises, Shanghai hometowns, and overseas Chinese, and resolutely defend the judicial interests of Chinese-funded enterprises under the jurisdiction of the UAE national law.

Zhao Wenjie is the first Chinese lawyer in the United Arab Emirates to obtain a practicing qualification. He is a master's degree in law from Renmin University of China. He originally worked in the research office of the Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China. He has seven years of experience in dispute resolution in the United Arab Emirates. He is good at legal services in the field of engineering claims and international infrastructure construction. He has hosted many logos in the United Arab Emirates. The state-owned central enterprise claimed the case and won the case.

In the second half of 2023, three construction central state-owned enterprise cases sponsored by lawyer Zhao Wenjie were changed and won in the second and third instance (the amount involved exceeded 40 million dirhams, and the first instance was lost after being represented by the local law firm), and was praised by customers as the "Undefeated General" in the field of engineering claims in the Middle East.
