Ethen Gai Delivers Keynote at Peking University CGF

On March 31st, the China Gulf Forum was successfully held at the Guanghua School of Management, Peking University. Ethen Gai, the founding partner of Winson Law Firm, was invited to attend the forum and delivered a keynote speech on the business environment in Gulf countries and the cultivation of foreign-related legal talents.

Combining Winson Law Firm's legal practice in protecting the interests of Chinese enterprises in the Middle East,   Gai pointed out that under the unprecedented changes of the century, China and the Arab world have strong complementary resources, mutual dependence, and strategic cooperation is imperative. The Gulf countries (GCC), located at the core of the Middle East, hold a special position in the world's strategic layout and energy map, making them an important choice for Chinese enterprises going global. From investment and trade to business exchanges and scientific cooperation, they are crucial support points for the "Belt and Road" initiative and a bridgehead for Chinese capital going abroad.

Gai emphasized the unique attraction of the Middle East region to Chinese capital due to its population, tax policies, and legal environment. However, as Chinese products, capacities, and infrastructure go global, "soft infrastructure" such as law, finance, consulting, and accounting also urgently needs to be strengthened. He called on the students from Peking University, Tsinghua University, and other institutions present to embrace their ambitions and join the surge of building "soft infrastructure" for Chinese enterprises going abroad.

The Forum originated from the "China Gulf Forum" first held at New York University Abu Dhabi in 2019. It is the first student-led forum focusing on business and cultural exchanges between China and the Gulf region. Co-hosted by the forum team and the Peking University Student Consulting Association (PCA), it was brought to China for the first time under the theme "Riding the Waves of the Gulf", addressing widely discussed issues such as enterprise globalization, cross-border investment, and career development opportunities for Chinese youths in the Gulf region. More than 150 selected student representatives and young delegates participated in the event after a process of registration and screening.
