Winson Law Offices and SWUPL Establish Legal Talent Base

On the afternoon of April 17, a symposium on the cultivation of legal talents in foreign-related rule of law was held between Winson Law Firm and the School of Law of Southwest University of Political Science and Law at the Yubei Campus of Southwest University of Political Science and Law. The meeting was chaired by Wu Aibin, Vice Dean of the School of Law. In attendance were Zhang Ya, Party Secretary of the School of Law of Southwest University of Political Science and Law; Professor Ding Shengming, Vice Dean of the School of Law; Lei Ding, Executive Director of Winson's Beijing Office; Xiang Gongpu, Head of Winson Law Firm's Egypt Office and Chinese Partner of The Egyptian Law Firm; Gong Shaoyi, Partner of Winson Law Firm; and other attendees, who gathered together to discuss matters relating to cooperation in the cultivation of foreign-related rule of law talents.

At the symposium, Zhang Ya, Party Secretary of the School of Law of Southwest University of Political Science and Law, delivered a welcome address and expressed that Winson Law Firm possesses deep practical experience and extensive resource advantages in the field of foreign-related legal services, which highly aligns and resonates with the core needs of the School of Law in cultivating foreign-related rule of law talents. Secretary Zhang Ya proposed that the university and the firm would join hands to build a new highland for practice-based education, providing students with high-quality internship positions; jointly carry out research projects in the field of foreign-related rule of law, producing a series of research outcomes that are substantive, valuable, and actionable; and jointly hold academic seminars and thematic lectures, building a solid bridge for Chinese-Arab exchange on rule of law, so as to make greater contributions to cultivating more outstanding foreign-related rule of law talents and serving the national strategy of opening up to the outside world.

As a distinguished alumnus of the School of Law of Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Xiang Gongpu, Head of Winson Law Firm's Egypt Office, delivered a speech on behalf of the firm, in which he both reflected on his years of study at the university and expressed his gratitude for the nurturing he received from his alma mater. Drawing on his many years of practical experience in Egypt, the UAE, and other regions of the Middle East, he shared the real-world demands and capability requirements of foreign-related legal services today. Xiang Gongpu stated that Winson Law Firm has always placed great importance on talent cultivation and industry empowerment, and is willing to embark on all-round cooperation with his alma mater to jointly explore new models for cultivating foreign-related rule of law talents, provide students with immersive practical positions, jointly carry out research and academic exchanges, and build a bridge for rule of law exchanges.

At the symposium, both parties completed the signing and plaque-awarding ceremony for the "Teaching, Research, and Practice Base." This step marks the cooperation between Winson Law Firm and the School of Law of Southwest University of Political Science and Law entering a new stage of systematization and greater depth. Going forward, both parties will achieve resource sharing and complementary strengths, injecting greater practical momentum into the cultivation of foreign-related rule of law talents.

During the discussion and exchange session, Lei Ding drew on Winson Law Firm's many years of practical experience in the Middle East to systematically introduce the characteristics of the legal systems and business environments of major Middle Eastern countries such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia, and conducted an in-depth analysis of the career development opportunities and challenges facing Chinese lawyers in the Middle East region. Both the university and the firm engaged in thorough discussion on topics including language proficiency requirements for the cultivation of foreign-related rule of law talents, safety guarantees for overseas internships, student career development pathways, the legal environment in the Middle East region, and future directions for cooperation. Representatives of Winson Law Firm responded one by one to the questions raised by faculty and students of Southwest University of Political Science and Law, with the on-site atmosphere being lively and a constant exchange of ideas and perspectives.

The successful convening of this symposium has built a collaborative talent cultivation platform bridging legal education and legal practice, laying a solid foundation for the deepening cooperation between Winson Law Firm and the School of Law of Southwest University of Political Science and Law, and injecting new momentum into the cultivation of high-quality, composite foreign-related rule of law talents.
